Role Playing – storytelling

Ideas for scenarios:

  • Characters (mix of female/ male) are at a party when ‘the new girl in town’ starts making out with one of the characters’ boyfriend.(other characters: boyfriend, local thugs, parents, police…. )
  • Characters have lagged behind in the school lab in the basement, when there is a huge explosion, everything collapses and they are stuck there.(other characters: any type of monster, terrorists, rescuers…. )
  • Characters are together on a plane heading for a holiday in the sun when the plane is hijacked. (terrorists, pilot, cabin crew)
  • Characters are together in an elavator that is stuck. Cell phones do not work.
  • Characters are transported through time to any period whatsoever!

Procedure:

Lesson 1:

  • Download a dice app where you have the dice you need!
  • Group chooses general background.
  • Players create their characters – and include something that is secret and relevant to the plot.

GM (Game Master)

  • fleshes out the plot,
  • creates challenges, at least a couple for each attribute
  • creates NPCs (non-player characters) – these do not need to be as detailed as the players, but they should have relevant stats for interaction or possibly for combat.

Lesson 2: play out the story

Lesson 3: finish playing / write the story

Stick to English during the game, and have fun!
